School Accreditations

(Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance on Pre-university Education)

IBSB is the first international school to be accredited by the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research. This accreditation reflects the quality, reliability, and comprehensive curriculum found at our institution. Due to this accreditation, students at our school may freely move into Romanian institutions of higher learning.

(CIE: Cambridge International Examinations)

IBSB is an accredited examination centre for Cambridge University exams at IGCSE, AS and A2 level. We have been teaching this programme for four years and have by far the best results in Bucharest. We teach over 30 separate subjects to exam. We are the only British school in Romania that offers this programme. 

In May 2007 our junior school was enrolled on to the Cambridge University primary programme. This is another first. IBSB now twin tracks CIE and National Curriculum throughout the school. The middle school has been enrolled too, and the certificate will appear here in September. Our recent Checkpoint exams in Year 9 were the best yet. We continue to improve our curriculum provision, and the academic and exam performances of our students across all age bands.

IBSB is the only British School in Romania that has been accredited by COBIS. This accreditation testifies to the quality and authenticity of the British character and curriculum we offer.

IBSB is an affiliated regular member of the European Council of International Schools. We have been inspected for our academic programme as recently as February 2006 and received an excellent report on curricular provision and exams. We will receive our final inspection for full accreditation in the near future.
