Kendall first joined IBSB as the Head of English and EAL in 2005 and 2006, and after four years absence has returned to IBSB as the new Head of School for 2011-2012 academic year. He has taught in a variety situations since 1996, including languages learning centres, primary and high schools, and at university, as a teacher, Senior Teacher, HOD, and Director. He has travelled extensively, to over forty countries, and has taught in Australia, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, and for the last 6 years, Romania. He graduated from Victoria University in New Zealand with a BCA in Marketing and Management, and a BA in Economic History, before continuing on to study toward a Post Diploma in English Literature at Canterbury University. He is currently completing the second half of his MA in Applied Linguistics. As Head of School, Kendall is responsible for the day to day management of the school, monitoring the academic process across the whole school, running academic projects, liaising with parents, working with the PTF to organise both community and parent focused events, planning the further development of the school at all levels, and assuring that the ethos and the philosophy of the school are imbued into every aspect of school life and well understood by all members of the school community. Kendall will also be responsible for running both the Middle School and High School public debating clubs this year, in preparation for the annual Sir Winston Churchill ‘Future Leaders’ Bucharest International School Public Debating Competition, which he started in 2009. He will also be teaching both IGCSE and A Level English Language. |
Head of Primary School
Alan Cornish (United Kingdom): BA Hons; MSc; PGCE

Alan is Head of the Primary School and one of the teachers for Year 4. He is a very experienced teacher from the UK, teaching in Essex, east of London. He previously taught as a deputy head at a school that was failing when he joined, and is proud that the school was considered to be good by Ofsted when he left 4 years later. He brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to this post and has taught at our school for nearly 5 years now, guiding it as it has doubled in size. Alan came to Romania to experience new cultures and explore Eastern Europe as he has a passion for travelling. He is also an avid football fan, so no matter how far he travels, a piece of his heart will remain in Roots Hall, the home of Southend United. |

Andrea Carman (Canada): BA Hons; PGCE

Andrea is the Head of Secondary School and an A Level English Literature teacher. She is from Oakville, Ontario, Canada and has 18 years of successful high school teaching experience; she is another strong asset to our team. She has taught at a private American School in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for many years and enjoyed the bilingual and bicultural aspects of the curriculum along with the opportunity to learn Spanish and more about the Mexican culture. She recently completed an intensive teachers' course in Prague which offered lots of great ideas for both teachers and students. She is also coordinator for TIV, our school's magazine. |

Neill joined us from Carlisle in Cumbria. He is the Head of Sixth Form, Year 13 form tutor and he is responsible with behaviour in senior school and the head of ICT. Neill is a graduate in astrophysics with 18 years teaching experience in England. He is an extremely strong addition to our crew and intends to stay in Romania for the long term. He holds responsibility for all ICT teaching, and assists with the website and cross-curricular links. As a child, he spent two years at school in China (Hong Kong). This experience contributes to his exotic character. Married to a Romanian citizen, he is a fluent speaker of the language. He is a dedicated "Trekkie" who loves snooker and can't understand football ... plenty of room for conflict there... |

Peter is the teacher responsible for Year 5 and he is responsible for Primary Cambridge programme. He likes Romania very much, having travelled here previously on a number of occasions. We are glad that he has now elected to work with us as an NC qualified junior school specialist in English. He is a keen enthusiast of most sports and is helping with the junior school soccer team and clubs. Peter hails from Liverpool and qualified as a teacher at Hope University. His football passion links him to the `blue side` of Liverpool. Peter is an energetic and enthusiastic addition to our crew. |

This is Jane’s sixth year at IBSB. She graduated from Birmingham and is a specialist in silver-smithing and jewellery design, however she is origanally from Manchester. Her teaching specialism is in Art and Design technology. Jane is our Art teacher, but she is also the Head of Pastoral Care doing a vital job of supporting all the form tutors in the Secondary School. The whole school also greatly benefits from her skills; she assists with a range of other activities, such as designing props for school productions. Jane is married to a Romanian citizen and loves this country. She enjoys painting, sewing, travel, design and reading. |
Examiner Officer
Ioana Nitescu (Romania): BSc; PGCE

Ioana is our Examination Officer and Science teacher. After she gained her Biology and Engineering degrees at University she moved to Manchester to do a Masters Degree in Environmental Science. One year later she moved to Cleveland in the UK where she started research and gained a Doctorate in Biotechnology. Ioana managed successful research projects funded by the UK Department of Trade and Industry and Unilever in a range of fields such as biomedical, food industry and environmental areas where she applied modern alternative biosensor technology. In 2000 Ioana started her teaching career (PGCE, University of Greenwich) and has since had experience of teaching Chemistry, Physics, and Biology within Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. In the UK she worked as a Grammar/International School teacher (London) and Sixth Form College Course Team Leader (Essex) as well as a Deputy Principal and Exam Officer in other International Schools of Bucharest. Ioana has taught KS3/KS4 Science and organized Cambridge Checkpoint, IGCSE and A Levels exams as Exam Officer at the International British School of Bucharest. Ioana is an outdoor person too, who loves hiking, skiing and swimming in her spare time. |
Su Allen (United Kingdom): Bsc (Hons), PhD, Cert. Social Sciences

Su was born and brought up in Wales. She has taught the Sciences for over the last decade at a girls’ school in Derby, where she was Head of Chemistry and Head of House. Previously Su had worked at a rural Kenyan school with VSO. She has a BSc (Biochemistry and Chemistry) and PhD from the University of Salford as well as a certificate in Social Sciences. She has organised trips and fun competitions to promote Science, taught Kiswahili on language day, dressed up and danced for charity and trekked around the Derbyshire countryside in search of students on their Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. Su enjoys travel, reading and watching Dr. Who, many scenes of which are filmed in her home town. When she visited IBSB and Bucharest she was excited by the energy of the school and city and is looking forward to working and living in Romania. |
Johanna Croci (Italy): BA; PGCE

Johanna joined us six years ago as the teacher for Italian. She is a native speaker and she has become a very successful teacher here. Additionally, she is a graduate of psychology and sociology and she teaches both of these subjects at A Level, respectively IGCSE with a passion that has inspired many. Ergo, she has carved out a unique niche for herself as she is the first teacher to occupy a role simultaneously in the humanities and languages department. Involvement, care and responsibility are some of the values that she appreciates most, this is why she has continuously developed our outstanding community service programme that gives every member of our school the opportunity to achieve and make a positive difference. Johanna has been an assistant tutor of five graduating classes so far. Disciplined, reserved, confident and in possession of a very wide smile, Johanna also has a passion for martial arts. |
Diana Lia (Romania): MA; BA; PGCE

Diana is a member of the excellent and super-successful languages team, responsible for sharing the delivery of French lessons to senior students. She is another graduate from the University of Bucharest and intends to develop her career in Romania. Diana wanted to remain an assistant tutor to Year 8 and she considers this responsibility a joyful experience. She has also taken responsibility for "girls" in the secondary school and supports the school work experience program designed to empower, inspire and motivate students. Diana has become the Head of Modern Foreign Languages and she has always appreciated the valuable conversations between students and teachers regardless of their mother tongue. She has recently started to learn Italian and is planning a tour of the world in the near future.

Aurora is is a member of the Modern Languages Department and takes responsibility for the delivery of the entire Spanish curriculum (KS3 to AL) in our school. She is a graduate of the Bucharest University and used to teach in the Romanian system before joining our team. Aurora enjoys her work here and is involved in the CAS programme. She enjoys teaching Cervantes’ language, one of the most spoken languages in the world. |
Ciprian Iacob (Romania): MSc; BSC; PGCE

Ciprian is our teacher of senior school sports. He graduated from the National Sports Academy in 1997 and is a specialist swimming instructor. He also owns a Master`s Degree in physical education. He has a Judo blackbelt and has participated in national competitions. He wants to teach all our students "about the benefits of having a healthy and beautiful body". He introduced the IGSCE programme in PE, our school being the first school in town successfully running an IGCSE examinable course in PE. Ciprian is very keen in involving our students in many sport interschool activities. He takes an active part in organizing the sport competition calendar with the other international schools in Bucharets. |
Gerhard Hartel (United States): BA;

Gerhard is the newest edition to the English department, teaching years 8 and 9 students. He is from Cleveland, Ohio in the United States and has been living in Bucharest for two years with his wife Laura, also a teacher. He has had a wide array of teaching experiences here in Romania, and even taught a technical English course at the Dacia automotive plant in Mioveni. Gerhard is realizing his dream of living and working in Europe, as well as pursuing his love of teaching. He also has a passion for sports, and found coaching basketball and softball very rewarding. Being a dual citizen of the USA and Germany he is also a fluent German speaker. |
Timothy Lowey (United Kingdom): BA; PGCE

Tim has recently joined us from the Isle of Man as the new Head of English. He studied English and European Literature at Durham and Warwick Universities and since completing his PGCSE training in Bristol, he has for the past five years taught KS3 and KS4 English and English Literature at a small Independent School in London. Tim brings with him a wealth of experience and a depth of knowledge across all literary periods, with particular strength in regard to teaching Old English, Middle English, and Shakespeare. He will be teaching Year 7, IGCSE, and A level English, and as a budding thespian and high school debater, he will be responsible for directing this year’s Winter Production, David Copperfield, and for working with the IBSB middle school debating team. He will also be the Form Tutor for Year 11. His out of school interests include Art, Walking, Rugby, Swimming, and apparently line dancing, though this may just be a rumour. |
Rodica Ursu (Romania): MA; BA; PGCE

Rodica is a graduate of English and German from the Bucharest Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature. She has a degree in foreign languages and a master’s degree in the translation of literary texts. Rodica is in her sixth year at IBSB, where she teaches German in the Secondary School and also undertakes some other responsibilities. She is a quiet but determined person with previous experience at another international school. She loves to travel and to engage herself in new, exciting life experiences. |
Paul Georgescu (Romania): BA; PGCE

Paul is responsible for Primary School P.E. and after school sport clubs. He is a graduate of Kinetotherapy and Sport from the National Sport Academy. He owns waterpolo coach and physical fitness coach diplomas and this year he will finish his masters in “Physical Activities for Special Needs Children”. He was a professional waterpolo player and won the Romanian Championship twice and the Romanian Cup once with Steaua Bucharest waterpolo team. Presently he is a first class waterpolo referee. In triathlon he is national champion in team relay. His successes have continued at IBSB where his teams have won many interschool competitions, notably with the IBSB football, athletics and swimming teams. He has worked at IBSB since 2000, making him the longest teaching staff member of the school. |
Angel Militaru (Romania): BA; PGCE

Angel is a graduate of the National University of Music and is a specialist in guitar. He has won the prestigious medal for best performance at the Sibiu Festival. He is our teacher of Music, and so far celebrates every year a 100% student pass rate in the summer exams. He also plays in the Operetta of Bucharest Orchestra. Angel is responsible for all the musical components of the winter and summer drama productions, and he also takes a dominant role in every Friday assembly. Additionally he is responsible for the staging of the annual Carol Service at the Anglican Church. Angel knows a little about a lot of things and earned the staff sophistry award. |
Cristian Munteanu (Romania): BSc; PGCE

Cristian is a graduate of Bucharest University and he is in his fifth year at IBSB, where he joined our Science department as the specialist teacher for Physics. One of his main responsibilities is the whole school timetable. He is a very efficient person, as he is involved in many other jobs in the school such as assisting the Head of the School. Cristi has recently been crowned as the champion chess player in our school and now takes responsibility for this popular club and tournament. As a local of Bucharest, he inevitably supports Steaua soccer club. |

Lucy graduated from the University of Wales Swansea with a joint BA in History and Sociology. She also completed a PGCE at Swansea in Secondary History. She has taught for four years in the UK and also taught in China. She is the form teacher for Year 13 and the Head of Humanities and Social Science. This is her fourth year here and she looks forward to seeing her class graduate and go on to achieve great things in the future. Lucy still appreciates the merits of cheese and football but now also ”mici”. |
Mihaela Senzaconi (Romania): BSc; PGCE

Mihaela has been teaching Biology for 11 years now (most of which she has spent in IBSB). She graduated from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Biology with a degree in Genetics, which she still finds fascinating. Her aim is to inspire her students with the same passion she has for the subject from their first year in the senior school until they graduate. She is also currently Head of the Science Department and an active supporter and volunteer in our school’s Community Action Service programme. Mihaela is a chair of the Environment Committee, working at improving the quality of our school’s ecological background and increasing awareness and understanding of global issues. |

Cristina graduated from the University of Timisoara, Faculty of Mathematics with a degree in Mathematics and ICT. She joined the school in 2004 and since then, she has gained more experience which has helped develop her professional career. Cristina graduated with her Masters degree in Business Administration in Athens and Educational Science in Bucharest. Recently she has returned after one year of preparing for her postgraduate degree at the University of Wales, in International Hospitality & Tourism Leadership, due to the fact that her first love is travelling. Some of her skills include communicating with people and guiding them to discover the values and beauties of the world in a life which is more and more demanding, but indeed too short! She is also an assistant form tutor to Year 10 and responsible for our Links programme. |

This is Diana's fourth year as teacher of Mathematics and Statistics at IBSB and the second year as the University Trips and Fairs Coordinator. She graduated from University of Bucharest with a degree in Statistics and she is currently reading for her masters degree in Risk Management at the Academy of Economic Sciences. She enjoys organizing the Kangaroo Exams in our school and she was surprised to see our students' high level of commitment to this contest. She loves travelling, singing and cooking and she is looking forward to the new challenges this school may offer to her, especially because she’s teaching Further Maths this year. Diana is an assistant tutor to Year 11 and also audits the school merits and warnings system. |

Alexandra is has been teaching at IBSB for three years and is the Head of Mathematics and ICT Department. She taught Maths for four years in London before spending two years volunteer teaching in a secondary school in Rwanda. She is also the form tutor for Year 9. Alexandra still loves Romania and is looking forward to the new school year and encouraging all the students to love Maths. Alexandra also likes playing and watching all sports. |

Maria joined us last January and is our Business Studies and Economics teacher as well as the Form Tutor for Year 10. She obtained a Business Studies degree at the University of Sheffield and has a PGCE in Business Education from Edge Hill University, Lancashire. She hails from Liverpool and has several years teaching experience in both the UK and Spain and has a strong background of pastoral care garnered whilst working at an international boarding school in Geneva, Switzerland. She is a Liverpool supporter through and through and has high hopes for the coming season with ‘King Kenny’ in charge! She enjoys travelling and is a keen film enthusiast. She has enjoyed her experience so far at IBSB and is looking forward to the new school year. |
Scott Jamieson (United Kingdom): BA; PGCE

Scott joined us in the Humanities Department to teach IGCSE and A Level Geography and is also Year 12 Tutor. After graduating from the University of Liverpool and obtaining a PGCE from Liverpool Hope University, Scott was involved in teaching KS3, 4 and 5 Humanities for three years in North Wales, before moving to North Carolina. After two years there, he returned to Europe teaching IB History and IGCSE Geography, while also working as a House Master in the Boarding House at an International School in Switzerland. A firm and fair approach with students has given him many successful experiences in education, from trips and sports, to exam success, to students' social and personal development. After being denied the opportunity to play professional football following a freak lawn-mowing accident, Scott spent many years in the US coaching soccer, traveling the length and breadth of the country and enjoying its many cultural wonders. Living in the Alps, he has become a keen snowboarder and is looking forward to many off-piste adventures on the slopes of Eastern Europe. His new adopted team here in Bucharest is Sportul Studentesc. |
Chelsea Corvino (Canada): BA

Chelsea is our Year 3 teacher and joined our school in January 2009. She is from Ontario, Canada and has been in Bucharest for over 3 years. She has a Bachelors degree in Sociology and Psychology, focusing on child development and learning and has had a range of experiences working with children over the past 7 years. This year she has taken on the role of Inclusion Co-ordinator, developing an Extended Learning Programme for our Primary School students. She is also the Humanities co-ordinator in the Primary School. Some of her personal interests are travelling, reading, writing, music and dance. She also loves animals and has owned a horse for 15 years back home in Canada. She enjoys IBSB and is looking forward to another year on the team. |

Katie is from Ontario, Canada. She is thrilled to be back in Year 3 for more fun and adventure. Katie leads the Community Action Service Team in the Primary School and is looking forward to making more meaningful connections and positive contributions to our local community. She continues to assume responsibility for coordinating Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) in the Primary School. Katie has also created IBSB’s Charity Club and a sports club for girls! She has a passion for athletics and believes in educating children about the many benefits of wellness and healthy lifestyle. Katie has volunteered to direct this year’s Spring Show, where the children will bring Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” to the stage. Her other interests include reading, writing, music, exploring nature, animals, rollerblading and water-skiing. Katie gained her previous teaching experience in the diverse city of Toronto, Ontario. She sincerely appreciates the kind welcome she received last year from all members of the IBSB community. This year she plans on making the most of each and every day! |
Alexander Kane (United Kingdom): BA, Hons; PGCE

Mr. Kane is a graduate of Lancaster University and completed his PGCE at the University of Birmingham. He joins IBSB with experience across the primary curriculum from EYFS to Year 6. He has spent his career up to this point working in inner city Birmingham and has a lot of experience working with EAL learners. He began his career in a failing school and considers the baptism of fire in his NQT year to have strengthened his resolve to provide a first rate education. Having just completed a year teaching in EYFS he is keen to bring some of the good practice he has acquired to his year 4 class. From his extensive time living and travelling in Latin America, he has a strong grasp on the Spanish language, but also has a working knowledge of French, Turkish, Somali and Arabic amongst others. When he’s not being a teacher, Mr. Kane is an avid Liverpool FC supporter and enjoys travelling the world and volcano boarding! |
Gareth Jones (United Kingdom): BEd, Hons

Gareth is our Year 5 Teacher and joins us this year from an International British Curriculum school in Nigeria. He has previously taught for over 20 years both internationally in many countries including Spain, Colombia, Tanzania and Togo and also he has been a Deputy Head and class teacher in England. He is well travelled and so brings a great deal of knowledge and experience from different countries and different schools. He has a good understanding and knowledge of Spanish and some French, aswell as some African languages such as Swahili and Evé. Gareth enjoys watching sports particularly Rugby and Cricket and although he does not particularly enjoy football he can put up with it. He likes to get out and about and particularly enjoys walking and camping. Gareth considers himself to be a lifelong learner and teacher so his burning desire is to pass on and attain skills or knowledge. |

Mark joins the Primary School staff this year as Class Teacher for Year 2. He is from Glasgow, Scotland and this is his first visit to Bucharest. Graduating with a Bachelors degree in Politics and Sociology, Mark went on to study for a PGDE in Primary Education from the University of Glasgow. After teaching in Scotland, Mark went on to teach in Qatar in the Middle East where he enjoyed exploring the Arabic culture. As well as being responsible for teaching Year 2, Mark has taken on the role of Mathematics Coordinator and aims to improve the pupils’ ability in this subject area. As a keen football fan, he hopes to adopt a local team as well as supporting his own Glasgow Celtic. |
Louise Hayley (United Kingdom): BA; PGCE

Louise joins us this year as the Year 1 teacher. She is from Scotland and taught there for two years after qualifying in 2008. On completing these two years, she made the move to International teaching and spent one year in Qatar, also teaching Year 1. Louise is excited to bring her knowledge and experience from the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence to The International British School of Bucharest as we move towards more holistic learning. She has a Bachelors degree in Bioscience and has taken on the role of the Primary Science Co-ordinator in order to develop Primary science further. Louise also has a passion for the outdoors and is keen to facilitate learning in outdoor environments. |
Antoaneta Ardeleanu (Romania): BA; PGCE

Antoaneta is a member of the Modern Foreign Languages team. She teaches French and she also coordinates the EAL Department (English as an Additional Language). She graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature, English – French section. She has been teaching for more than nine years, in both state and independent schools. She shows a genuine interest in children and respect for their individuality. She has a real passion for foreign languages. She can also speak Italian. She loves reading, travelling and eating white chocolate. |
Manuela Constantin (Romania): BA; PGCE

Manuela received a double degree in Geography and English from the University of Bucharest in 1990. She also earned a scholarship in Scotland, at the Edinburgh University (1997), where she studied ‘New Methods of Teaching English in Secondary Schools.’ At that time she worked as a teacher of English at Spiru Haret Secondary School in Bucharest and as an assistant lecturer in English at the Ecological University, the Faculty of Law. Then, in 2000, she faced a new challenge: working with preschool children and hasn’t looked back since. To consolidate her practice she went to Roehampton University in London and gained the Froebel Graduate Certificate in Early Years Education in 2007. Manuela joined us in 2010 and we are lucky that she decided to bring her considerable knowledge and talents to IBSB, because every day she thinks of ways to create a learning environment for her children to have fun learning, a place where they can ‘grow wings to fly’. She is rightly proud to have been able to teach all ages, throughout her career; from 2 year olds to adul. Manuela tells me that she likes the working environment in IBSB, but that she also likes holidays, loves travelling and driving her car. |
Claudia Sanduleac (Romania): BA; PGCE

Claudia is a strong asset to our preschool teaching team. She graduated with a joint degree in English and Romanian language. Claudia taught for eight years before joining us and has experience in other international schools in town. The children benefit from her calm approach and she is another member of staff who says ‘I love my job!’. She likes a lot travelling and reading books. |
Ana Maria Chemencedji (Romania): BA; PGCE

Ana Maria takes departmental responsibility for the teaching of Romanian Language and Literature throughout the Primary and Secondary School. She is also a Year 6 assistant teacher – a role she really enjoys, year 6 students being very clever and enthusiastic. Originally from Calarasi, via high school in Slobozia and Bucharest University, Ana Maria adds to our growing band of linguists. A specialist in Romanian with French, with a master’s degree in theory of literature, she has eleven years teaching experience, and has published three literature school books. After one year of maternity leave, she is very happy to come back and start working with our students; she missed them a lot. |
Alexandra Cojocaru (Romania): BA; PGCE

Alexandra is the assistant teacher for Year 4B. She joined us from another international school in town, where she taught for three years. Alexandra is a graduate from Bucharest University with a joint degree in English and Geography. This is her second year working with EAL children (English as Additional Language). Her hobbies include travel, reading and music. She enjoys the dangerous pursuit of climbing; and she wants to learn how to horse-ride - a very active woman indeed! |
Camelia Nicolau (Romania): BA; PGCE

Since she joined us four years ago Camelia has become an integral part of the Primary School team. As well as supporting Mr Cornish in his classes, she is the Key Stage 2 German teacher and the head of the Modern Foreign Languages Department which means she has to provide a clear, cohesive curriculum and somehow create timetables to make everybody happy! Camelia is one of our longest serving members of staff and she is always happy to use her extensive knowledge of the school to help students, teachers and parents alike. Outside the classroom, Cami’s main interests include travel and sport. She has clocked up plenty of miles in the last year on journeys to the Balkan Peninsula and Venice. She is a true patriot, so next year she will be in London to support the Romanian team at the Olympic Games!! |

Irina joined our team two years ago and she is the support teacher for Year 1 and EAL (English as Additional Language). Madalina is the Reception and Preschool assistant teacher in the Primary School. She is in her third year of undergraduate studies reading Psychology at Spiru Haret University. She likes working with children, especially the Preschool children. She likes also to swim, and travel a lot; her favourite country, so far, is Italy. She has been in our school for five years, gaining much experience in SEN, which is an area of school life that really interests her. |
Luiza Stoica-Diaconovici (Romania): PGCE

Luiza is the support teacher for year 5 and one of our Romanian for natives teachers in the Primary School. She joined the IBSB team almost two years ago, after nine years of teaching in other international and state schools. Luiza graduated with a joint degree in Romanian and English language. She enjoys working with children, having a genuine interest in helping not just the most talented but also the less inclined to achieve their full potential. She believes that the art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery. Her hobbies are reading, travelling, roller-skating and listening to music. Luiza also loves animals owning a playful cat. |

Oana is the support teacher for Year 3. She graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, English- French section. She taught for 12 years in another international school where she worked with different age groups. Oana is an enthusiastic and self motivated teacher who enjoys working with children and she couldn’t imagine herself doing anything else. Her hobbies are traveling, reading and cooking. |
Andreea Busa (Romania): PGCE

Andreea joined our school in November last year as assistant teacher in Year 4. This year, she assists Mr. Mullan in Year 2 and she teaches Romanian for Non-native children. She recently graduated the Faculty of Accounting and Management Systems and is now completing a master in the same domain. For three years during University she tutored pupils, thus gaining an interest in teaching children which led her to us. Andreea, or Adi as friends call her, likes to try new things and she never says “I don’t know” but rather “I don’t know yet!” proving that education is present at every step of life’s journey. |
Iulia Ciobanu (Romania): MA; BA; PGCE

Iulia is one of the support teachers for Year 3. She graduated from the Faculty of History and she also has a MA in European Integration. She has experienced teaching in Romanian public schools but now she is eager to start a career in the international environment. Her hobbies include reading, travelling and watching old movies. |

Aida has joined us as the school's Educational Psychologist. After graduating the most prestigious university in Romania - Bucharest University, Aida worked in the Romanian Public Educational System, where she acquired a strong experience in working with students, parents and teachers. She is a teacher herself and she has been involved in coordinating courses for children and adults (communication, learning, creativity, non-violent communication) as well as Comenius projects. Her responsibilities in the school include identification of the SEN children, supporting the PSHE program, developing counseling programs, individual and group counseling for children and parents. Some of her other interests are: music, travelling and books. She is on open person who loves everything about her job. |

Alina is our new librarian. She is a graduate of English and German from Spiru Haret University. She experienced teaching in a state kindergarten and worked for the last five years at Oxford Educational Centre. She loves children very much. Travelling and reading books are among her hobbies. She also has a huge collection of magnets and mugs from all over the world. |
Florin Ghita (Romania): BA

Florin is our IT Technician. He joined our team three years ago and he is responsible for the smooth running of the IT system in the school. Florin is highly appreciated by our colleagues as he is the "wizard" in the ICT room and he can solve any problems of the modern technology. He is obviously very passionate about his domain of activity and he brought a lot of improvements to our school's computer network. Florin is also involved in important school projects like the TIV and Yearbook by supporting with design and editing. |
