Uniform policy

 

General

  •   The school uniform is available at the uniform website or the school office and should be acquired prior to starting school at IBSB
     
  •   All clothing must be worn in neatly, in a clean and acceptable appearance
     

 

The school uniform

  • All students are required to wear either a white or light-blue buttoned-up and tucked-in shirt with the school logo, that covers both the shoulders and the midriff
     
  • Long trousers, dresses, skirts and shorts are required to be plain and dark in colour: either grey, navy blue or black. Dresses, skirts and shorts must be knee-length. Jeans of any kind must not be warned
     
  • There will be no oversized clothing. Torn or radically altered clothing is not permitted
     
  • Clothing with lettering or drawings may not be worn other than the school logo
     

 

Headwear

  • Hats are not to be worn at school, with the exception of baseball caps, which may be worn only during PE lessons and break-time, and winter hats outside during the winter months


Hair

  • Haircuts or hair styles which draw undue attention to the wearer are not permitted. Multi – coloured or unnatural coloured hair is not allowed
     
  • Boys hair is required to be off the collar
     
  • Girls hair is required to be tided back off the face at all times

 

Cosmetics

  • Students in Key Stages 1-3 are not permitted to wear any make up or nail polish
     
  • Students in Key Stages 4-5 are not permitted to use excessive make-up

 

Jewellery and other non-essential apparel

  • Earrings are to be worn by girls in ears only. Nose rings, eyebrow rings, and tongue rings are not permitted. Boys are not allowed to wear earrings
     
  • Excessive jewellery is not permitted. More than one item of the same type is not allowed
     
  • Leather necklaces, wristbands, and ankle bands are not permitted
     
  • Tattoos are to be covered at all times
     
  • Sunglasses are not to be worn in indoors

 

Other

  • Mobile phones, I-pods, and PDAs are allowed at school as long they remain off in class; any personal electronic device is not the responsability of IBSB
     
  • Key Stage 5 students only are allowed laptops in school
     
  • The possession of skateboards / skates / roller blades / scooters/and bikes and their use is prohibited at school
     
  • Students are required to bring a school bag, pencil case, and homework diary to school each day. If homework diaries are lost the student must pay for an immediate replacement.
     
  • PE kit is also required on days when it is timetabled
